About The Gold Panner

The Gold Panner had its modest beginnings in Placerville, CA in the back bedroom of the Gold Panner’s original founder in 1979.  A little over a year later, September 1980, the move was made to a small office inside The Sierra Trading Post on Pleasant Valley Road.  For local long time El Dorado County residents they will remember winding their way through the store into the back to place their ads.

At this same time in 1980 The Gold Panner’s current owner began her employment in that very office.  A few years later when the opportunity presented itself she purchased the Gold Panner, moved it to 247 Placerville Drive, Placerville and that’s where the paper has been located since.

Over the years the Gold Panner has grown larger due to a regular customer base and very large readership. Our moto has always been to provide quality, dependable advertising at a very reasonable price.
