This is a gorgeous Antique Lapis Blue Opaline with Bronze Hinged Coffin Box. In Mint condition, no chips or cracks, just pure beauty.
Made in France from the 1800’s to 1890’s, Opaline is a semi-opaque, an art glass of the highest quality which is slightly translucent glass that was popular during the reign of Napoleon III (1850-1860).
Opaline glass is also highly collectible and sought after for its semi-opaque coloring and seamless appearance. It is hand blown and the containers are hinged with gilt hardware. These are heirlooms which will continue to grow in value, yet never fade in elegance. Absolutely stunning.
